My lttle baby Malcolm is 2 years old today. I remember this time 2 years ago. Malcolm was minutes old, weighed 5 pounds, and didn't cry much. He just gazed around as if delighted to be in the world. He turned out to be one of those "good" babies everyone talks about. You know, those babies that are always happy, never cry, and don't wriggle around during diaper changes. Yeah, those smiling little people who never cause any problems. Yep, he was one of those.

Malcolm was born very late in my life. I thought all that child bearing, child rearing stuff was behind me. My oldest child, a daughter, is now age 27. I have a son who is age 25, and then my next son is 19 years old. Then along came Malcolm! I spent the entire pregnancy in bed and he came early. But he is strong and healthy.

And here we are two years later. . . .

My little tiny baby is now a toddler. He sings, and dances, and recites his ABCs. He has his own ideas about how to do everything! He loves animals and crayons and playing in the dirt. He calls me "Momma" and says "I wuv you." He is happy one second and upset the next. LOL But that's a toddler for you!

I can't help but wonder what he will do with his life. My adult children are (1) artist, (2) executive, (3) computer tech. Will Malcolm be a politician, a doctor, a biologist, a truck driver, a father of none or of many, a diplomat, a president, a peace maker, will he save the world, or cure disease? It doesn't matter really. As long as Malcolm is happy. Right now, he makes me so very happy. I consider myself successful as a mother if I can return some of that happiness back to him.
