I know I have not been active around here much in the past few months. Not much I can do about that! I do my best. So what is keeping me away? We are doing work on our new place. New floors have to be put down along with new tiles too! The bathroom is getting redone too! So there is a ton of work going into that so we can get it done so we can move in! Hopefully after the move I will be able to be on here much more! This brings me to the packing that also needs to be done. But before the packing I am going through every single item in our home and sorting it out. Keep, throw out because its unusable and to donate because frankly it's not being used by us yet is still usable by someone else. This is the second biggest project I am working on! I want to be moving on July 1. However that depends on the work being done. Hopefully everything pans out for this to happen!
My youngest boy...Sam will be 3 at the end of the month. And finally after months and months and months of trying out potty training....he really is potty training! The past 6 days he actually going potty every single time he has to go....from morning until night! I have mixed feelings about this. It's wonderful he is a big boy now using the potty! I'm thrilled we won't have to buy any more diapers! And that is the sad thing for me! Never again will we have a baby in the house. He is the last and the baby of the family for always. Each milestone he has reached has been exciting and painful all at once. And this one of the big ones that means never again will I have to potty train another child. Sad and happy thoughts all at once!
Like his brothers Sam is delayed developmentally. So we have speech, occupational therapy, and special education teacher coming to the house every week to give Sam services. On my blog I have updates and such on this....just wanted to write it here too! I'm so used to this as his older brothers also had home based services!
My oldest is 10! Holy Moly people! Where did the time go with her? She is so much like me that it's no longer funny! It's like seeing myself grow up again....LOL. She hates doing dishes and helping with laundry and keeping her room clean. I don't know where she gets that from. Ok so maybe I do....from me!
Curtis doing well. Though his teacher is not happy that he can't reach a bench mark score for his reading. Just the fact that he is 6...soon to be 7 and reading is a blessing in my eyes! He is autistic and the doctors told us he may never learn to read anything beyond his name. How wrong they are! Next year we will work on improving his reading for now...let's just celebrate that he is reading!
Gregory had held his own all school year. However he is not where he should be at this time. Basically he is way behind. I have a meeting for him on the 12th to see about giving him one more year in Kindergarten to better prepare him for 1st grade. I don't want to. However it's way better to do this now than later on in life. I myself know what that is like! And I plan to talk with him if this is what will happen so he understands why! And let's face it...when I was in Kindergarten we learned the ABC's, 123's, colors, shapes and how to write my name. Today? The kids have to learn sight words, spelling and they have to learn how to read. And they must already know how to write their name, their ABC's, 123's up to 100, colors and shapes. Just this year Gregory just learned how to write his name, can count to 20, his colors, shapes and all of his ABC's.
How times have changed!
