This dish is simple yet packed with flavor. It takes 10 minutes and makes 2 servings
1 pack of tofu
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons flour
2tablespoons vegetable oil
31/2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon mirin or calamansi juice
3 tablespoons butter
1/2 tablespoon ginger,grated
1 teaspoon spring onions,chopped
Drain water from tofu by putting a plate on top of the tofu for at least 20 minutes.
Cut tofu in half.Drizzle with salt and pepper,then coat with flour.
Fry in vegetable oil on high heat for 30 seconds,then on low heat for 1 minute.Flip over and fry for another 10 seconds.
Add soy sauce,mirin and butter to the tofu and cook on low heat for 1 minute.Continue to cook on high heat until sauce is caramelized.
Transfer to a serving dish and top with grated ginger and chopped spring onions.
