I must be honest, what first attracted me to Henry Moore sculptures were his drawings. I saw some he did during the war as a war time artist and also some of his family groups. What appealed to me the most was his strong sense of form. For lack of better words his drawings have weight. I found this quality very appealing. At times this weightiness borders on sensuality although that is not Moore's intention at all. Although the lines in his drawings flow his drawings are very fixed or "monumental" as he would say. However, this stationary or fixed quality is not stiff or dead. I think that is what I find so appealing, Moore has managed to give his works a permanent quality yet their is a great deal of life to them. See the photo album I have posted.
