Proverbs 3: 7-8
Do not be wise in your own eyes
fear the Lord and shun evil

This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones

A whole serving of great advice in these verses! I really like that first line - to not be wise in my own eyes - kinda puts it into perspective - to whom am I looking for affirmation? The world? Or God? Sometimes I make the wrong choices, and pay the consequences for it - much better to look to Christ for my goals and my affirmation.
The second line is one that the first part confirms the second. If I fear God, then I am going to shun evil - because they cannot exist in the same space. And given the choice of what to have in my 'space' - I choose God!

The second verse shows me some of the benefits of taking the advice the proverbs offer - and reminds me too that 'health' and 'nourishment' are not just the physical ones, but spiritual and emotional as well - and it is a joy to know that God will provide me with health and nourishment for all three parts of me!
