I am looking for people to tell me there favorite stupid jokes.
Here's mine: Why'd the monkey fall out of the tree?
He was dead!
Why did the second monkey fall out of the tree?
Monkey see, monkey do.
Why did the 3rd monkey fall out of the tree?
Peer pressure!

I don't know why I found this so funny 20+ years ago when I first heard it, but it still makes me chuckle!

So now it's time for you all to make me laugh!

3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 3/4 cup flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 2/3 cup canned pumpkin.

Preheat oven to 350. Line jelly roll pan with wax paper. Spray wax paper with pam.

Beat sugar and eggs until thick, add the rest of ingredients, mix well and pour into lined pan. Bake 12-15 minutes.

Sprinkle large cotton cloth with powdered sugar. Invert pan onto towel and remove wax paper. Fold towel over the edge of cake and gently but tightly roll length wise. Let cool completely(about 1 hour).

Filling: 1 cup powdered sugar, 8 oz softened cream cheese, 3 TBS softened butter, 1/2 tsp vanilla.

Beat until smooth with mixer. Unroll cooled cake, spread filling evenly and re-roll without the cloth. Wrap in aluminum foil and and keep in freezer at least 2 hours or until 10 minutes before serving. (stays firmer in freezer for slicing.

Enjoy, and don't blame me when you gain 3 pants sizes.
I always double the recipe and make 2 at a time, they go fast!

So, I feel free to write anything that I want. But that freedom takes all the fun out of it. Like when you tell the kids that they can stay up till midnight and they fall asleep at 8 p.m. anyway. So now that I could pick on my mother-in-law or post things to horrify my teenage girl, I can't come up with anything that I feel like posting about. Drat!
Well, I am just going to get over that and post about MIL anyway!
Mother in law would remind you of 'Marie' from "Everybody Loves Raymond", except for that she doesn't keep house very well and her cooking skills were turned down even by a Turkish prison. But her son can do no wrong and she has total delusions about what a ladies man and star athlete he was growing up. Even Hubby looks at her strange when she retells the stories that do not even come close to reality. We think she watched to many movies and confuses him with the leading men.
Now I just happen to be that little hussy that stole him away from her. I haven't done a darn thing right in 15 yrs. I don't even get credit points for the mother of her grandchilren.
It makes her mad that I know my way around a kitchen and makes food that is palatable, especially when FIL, asks for seconds and compliments the food. I'm no Betty Crocker, but I can hold my own when it comes to dinner and love to bake homemade favorites.
The one thing that my MIL does make well, extremely well, is pumpkin roll. This holiday favorite is yummy and I have always told her so. I had asked for the recipe many times over the years and was never given it.
One year she finally said "I'll give it to my grand daughters when they are old enough". SLAP!, that was harsh. Christmas the next year, they were unable at the last minute to come to our house. So I asked one final time if I may have the recipe in order to make it for her precious son for Christmas. She stuttered trying to make up an excuse. I finally said to her, laughing my butt off, "One day you're going to be on the wrong side of the grass and then nobody is going to get pumpkin roll!". She laughed, but didn't dent the recipe.
The following summer she had to have surgery for a minor cancer. This 'near death'(eye roll)experience convinced her that she will die someday, maybe soon. She sent me my Christmas present a few weeks early that year. The recipe, and all the supplies to make pumpkin roll. I started making it right away and it was delicious! Hubby and the kids said that mine was better than hers. I made them swear never to say that in front of MIL.

Okay this is a follow-up in the series. Tell the story of the best day of your life. But there's a catch. You cannot say your wedding day or the birth of a child. They are a given. Put some thought into it, and come up with the best day of your life to share.
