QuilterMama's cre8Buzz Blog
Finally I am back at quilting. Not just the big long arm machine, but actually piecing fabric on my 'small' machine. It's really great to be using it again, since I was feeling guilty about neglecting my poor little Janome. I dusted her off, and oiled her and even gave her a new needle. I think she is happy to be used again. LOL What a nut case I am. As if my sewing machine has any idea that she was 'neglected'.
Ok Fellow wives, I have a question for you. Does your husband compete with you? If so, how do you deal with it? Visit the Moms forum here to find out more...

Let me know what you think!
So just yesterday, I wrote a tribute to my husband OCanaDad, and posted it on the Anthill. It was a top 10 of sorts, the best things I love about him. The very last item in my list was me bragging how he sure can 'knock me up'. What was that? A challenge? Just a few short hours later we got to talking. I mention that I am late. He says maybe you should take a test. Since we buy pregnancy tests by the case load, I jut happen to have one handy. Wouldn't you know it? A positive result just in time to finish off Father's Day!
PS Guess what! I just received notice that I won a contest today! My darling friend Kelby Carr hosted a contest on her site typeamom.net and I am one of the winners. Whoo hoo! What a day.
I am so happy that Spring has finally arrived! Winter did go by quickly, but I love the heat way more than the cold! We've been busy around our house with Spring Break, JR Quilt Guild and trips to the park. I decided to kick my coffee habit and although there were a few days of Advil dependency, I am now feeling great. Spring always inspires me to get in shape, eat better, and get reorganized. I was really happy yesterday to sell some Bear Crafting stuff. These bears waited 2 years in my sewing room to get some attention, but I just enjoy quilting more. They have now moved to their new home and will get more attention, I hope! I have big plans for the house and getting rid of old stuff. With 7 kids we have more clothes to hand down than the average family.
I was really pleased the other day when a Twitter friend asked for advice on some fabric she had bought for her daughter. After a few questions, she decided she would like to make placemats. I offered to whip up some easy instructions for her. Well I started digging through my 'stash' and found 4 Fat Quarters which had been with me a while. They are really pretty and I had not found a use for them yet. Perfect! I had found my fabrics. Even better they are beautiful Springy looking colors. After a little thinking, this is what I came up with...
I am just finishing up the tutorial and then I will put it on my site. I am hoping to finish the other 3 soon. I don't want to leave them sitting to become another UnFinished Object(s). I don't need any more of those. Any ways after that I may list them on etsy or something. There aren't enough for my big family, and they are too pretty for the kids anyways. Unless I laminate them or something. Ha! Well I hope you will let me know what you think of my little placemats!
So the other day I came to check my email and I had like 8 new followers on twitter. Cool. So I go to check out their profiles... you know, am I following this person? Do I want to? So I'm checking them all out and I end up on my own profile page and I notice that I now have 202 followers. I'm totally surprised! Didin't I hust have like 175 the other day? Did they really add up that fast? Then I notice that my updates are at 192. Wow! Have I really made that many little tiny statements on twitter? It makes me think about all the people I have begun to chat with and make friends with. It really exposes you to people you would have never met otherwise. In the beginning I was such a twitter keener, I followed anyone and anybody. Now I am more selective, although I follow anyone here on cre8buzz. It's a little addictive I must say, sometimes I have to force myself to let go of the mouse!
One of the best things about twitter is that I found cre8buzz. I love cre8buzz! But that is another story for another time. Now I am trying to coordinate a chat on twitter with a new friend from ustream while i type this blog. It's too late and I am starting to slip! Off to make post #201....
