I know that it is next to near impossible to buy Christmas gifts for the male banker you are dating. Most bankers have everything they need and most of what they want. Finding moderately priced gifts that he is going to like is incredibly difficult but don’t worry because the Prince of Wall Street has a few hints.

image 1) Khiel’s Eye Alert

I love Kiehl’s and this eye cream has gotten me through many a 140 hour week. After working an 18 hour day cranking through Excel your eyes are going to be terribly dry and you are going to have puffy sleep depravation dark circles developing under your eyes. Apply this cream under your eyes and you will feel more awake and much more moisturized. It also has caffeine and Vitamin E to make your eyelids firmer and less fatigued. Your banker will look much better if he uses Eye Alert regularly.

These are both must haves for the banker in your life if you don’t want his face to age 15 years during his 2 year analyst stint. These are great stress busters and make your face feel great during those late nights spent flipping pitch books. Both products provide oil free moisture, improve skin tone, and hydrates your skin.

image 3) Salvatore Ferragamo Loafers or Oxfords

Now giving these gifts will set you back but I can guarantee that he is going to love them. Make sure you save the receipt because these shoes are normally fit by width and shoe size. A good pair will set you back $450-$800 but they are the banker status symbol. He is going to feel like a million bucks when he strolls into the office on Christmas day wearing the gorgeous shoes you bought for him. If he is a banker and he doesn’t have Ferragamos then its time to "Ferragamo him". Make sure he takes the shoes to a shoesmith or a shine shop to get adjustments made to the heel.

4) Brioni or Hermes Ties

My first expensive tie was a Brioni. Just like there is no comparison to an Oxxford custom made suit, there is no comparison to the quality that Brioni offers in ties. Brioni has dressed James Bond and makes some of the finest clothing I have every worn. However, their ties really set them apart. The ties runs about $135 in their boutiques but you can also get them at Saks or Neimans.

imageHermes’ ties have a very distinctive look and are really popular among the troops in most investment banking divisions. I would warn that your man may be uncomfortable wearing a Hermes tie because his superiors may make fun of him for wearing such an expensive tie. They are easily recognized and everyone knows how expensive they are which can be a problem for more modest people.

5) Custom made Oxxford Suit

This is the most expensive thing on this list. A custom made Oxxford suit is the finest suit in the world. They run between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on the style and fabrics chosen. To order one you should head into the best clothiers in any major city and get a certificate to have one made. Oxxford dealers re-cut these suits for free as long as you own them. I inherited three Oxxfords from my grandfather and Bullock and Jones in San Francisco recut and shipped them to me for free. These suits are handmade by expert craftsman in Chicago and many Presidents have donned these beauties.

image 6) Custom made, Thomas Pink Slimfit, or Armani Collezioni dress shirts

A half dozen custom made shirts would make any banker smile. Just make sure you take him into the store to be measured and to choose the fabrics. Off the rack, the two kinds of shirts that I love are Thomas Pink’s Slimfit and Armani Collezioni. The Armani shirts are the finest I have ever worn.

image 7) Anthony: Logistics for Men Pre-Shave Oil

This fragrance free pre-shave oil will significantly improve his skin and make shaving everyday for work much easier. My girlfriend gave this to me and I absolutely love it. Pair this with a shave cream from Khiel’s or Origins and his face will be so smooth.

image8 ) Cologne

This is a tough gift to give since it is pretty unusual to smell much cologne in an investment bank or a bullpen for that matter. If you do have to buy him something go for something subtle in a very sleek bottle. Most bankers don’t want to haul this stuff around with them on trips so go for the smallest size. I personally really love Armani’s new Attitude.

image 9) Bottle Service

If you are willing to throw down the AMEX to make him feel like a baller for a night then I don’t see how his friends and him could say no. Get dressed up with him and have his colleagues help choose the venue. I am not going to even try to name the hot spot to head to since the attractiveness of all the nightclubs catering to the banker class is constantly in flux. Marquee or Joshua Tree are the first two that come to my mind.

image 10) A Weekend In a Luxury Hotel for the Two of You

My last gift is a little less materialistic. Give him a whole weekend in a uber-chic hotel with you. If he can only give you won day because of his schedule pick a Sunday night since he less likely to have work. Get a suite in a hotel overlooking central park and spend the weekend together in luxury.
