Hi, I live in the south of the UK, and am 56. I have three wonderful grown up children and two gorgeous baby granddaughters.

Buddhism seems to fit very well with me, and I aspire to be a good Buddhist, but I am probably pretty crap at it in reality but we can but try.

I've come out of a deep sleep of ignorance and I'm now embracing education and all it can give to me.

My achievments so far are a diploma in social policy and criminology, and lots of bits and pieces of information gleaned from many books. I'm now studying philosophy.

The world of blogging has also been an eye opener for me, and I started my first blog last year, and now I have a couple more, but haven't had so much time to keep up with them this year. My main blog is political networking which is concentrating on the ELQ cuts to higher education.

I'm a Chair on an online student disability committee, and like thinking of myself as a bit of an activist on several issues.

Politically I'm a bit unsure but lean towards Liberalism, and against Conservatism, although at the moment they are helping in the fight against Labour on the funding cuts issue.

Recovering alcoholic, (5 years) not yet recovered agoraphobic, (about 2years) social phobic, or is that just anti social:-)
