I am 48, and the mother of two children, a daughter who is 16 years old and a son who is 14 years old. My daughter and her significant other are about to make me a grandma! My grandson is due on or about January 26, 2008. I am definitely planning on making this little guy's life as wholesome, healthy and joyful as a nana can, mostly by supporting his parents as they adjust to life as a new family.

At the same time, I am growing as a writer and poet, hoping soon to gather some of my work into a manuscript and/or chapbook(s). I am practicing reading it aloud to others, which is still a strange experience for me (a microphone can be a daunting thing). I am also beginning to explore the genre of memoir as I believe there is much to be learned and shared through that form of writing that really can't be found in any other form of expression.

I am looking forward to learning from you, and hope that from time to time I might share something that will help others along your paths in life.
