Spiritual awareness is much more than knowing what is right or wrong spiritually. You could learn that from a book, and religions have plenty of those. What makes spirituality, or spiritual awareness different to religion is that spiritual awareness is concerned with cultivating a growing awareness of ones own spiritual energies and spirit.

When I first learned to meditate, I did not know that this is the knowledge it would lead me to. Sitting quietly with myself, I began to experience my existence in a new way; to feel my own energy circulating around my body, and extending beyond my body.

Having got in touch with my spirit, this spiritual awareness has now become my compass, in navigating what is right and what is wrong. I have no need of dogma and traditions which have lost their relevance. I am free to navigate my own road through life. It is my hope that I will be able to help others learn how to do the same.

Hey, that's cool. Glad you are finding your spiritual nature. Just to clarify, many religions also assist one to do as you are doing. For example, Scientology addresses the spirit (known as thetan in Scientology). Scientology is used to increase spiritual freedom, intelligence, ability and produce immortality. It is further defined as the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, universes and other life. I would love for all people of Earth to realize their own spiritual nature and increase their awareness of self.

In Yoga, we believe humans are composed of 5 bodies or sheaths. The first on is Annamaya Kosha or the food sheath. It is what makes up our physical body. The second is Sheath is Pranamaya Kosha, or our Energy Body or Sheath. This is what you became aware of when you said: "began to experience my existence in a new way; to feel my own energy circulating around my body, and extending beyond my body." IMHO, Right and Wrong are relative terms. Exactly what they are depends upon what is in your Heart. The only why to get to the Absolute is to Purify your Heart Absolutely, in which case you will cease to exist as the individual you are. I agree that dogma and tradition can lose their relevance. However, we must be careful to not throw out the baby with the bath water; or in this case, The Truth with whatever it is we don't like. The third sheath is Manomaya Kosha, or, the Mental Sheath. Interesting that in Sanskrit, one of the oldest languages, one form of the word for mind is MAN. I don't believe this is a coincidence. Manomaya Kosha is the home of our ego and emotions. It is hard to rise above this level. But, meditation is usually necessary to do so.

Like you, "I did not know that this is the knowledge it would lead me to"... When I'm in "Spiritual Mode" or "The Spiritual Realm" I view the world very differently. I find myself writing differently, talking differently, thinking differently - on and on. It is very different than when I'm in the Physical Realm. The Physical can be Negative. I can elaborate more on this in a blog [I'm past due for a post] ~You have spawned thoughts~ Much needed inspiration!
