I can understand the falling due to stall content, but more than 1500 ranking spots? That seems a little harsh. I didn't even start that low when I first joined the Buzz. I'm not campaigning for top spot, but that was a heart stopper. I'm not at all clear on how I fell that far. And I fell hard in every ranking, REAL HARD. I had been in the top eight in Moms, now I don't even come in, in the top 50. That hurts.

JOJO, as the day goes on.

Opalstorm, I'm gonna say that much of ya rankin' in the past was due to older votes and views that have dropped off. We aged things faster. Remember too, your overall ranking is the result of ya content ranking. If content falls your gonna fall.

As for your blog, that is a unique one. We can not track the things that happen off of cre8Buzz. I speculate, people who have found your blog through the buzz now subscribe to it and now longer use the buzz to access it, therefore your blog "views" go down. This is an unintended consequence. Not sure we have a solution yet. The good news is, that people are visiting ya blog.

Keep in mind, if we did this right, your buzzranking is going to move a lot everyday. Low today, high tomorrow.

gotta say i was stunned, too. what hurt was the blog ranking like Opalstorm said. i get the cre8 blog ranking shifting like that and the posts, too. the picture gallery makes me sad as i worked hard to break the top 8, but i get that one even.

but how in the heck are we supposed to keep getting people to give fresh rankings/views thru cre8 to our established blogs? that one hurts.

huck - i get what you're saying and i mostly agree with you. what i'm afraid of is that it's going to discourage people who really honed something to get its ranking up - and now it's in the basement. i'm not sure that's how it will play out, but any time there's a huge shake-up that's a possibility.

Antman, thanks for the updates... I hope this is going to all work out, it was just a bit of a shocker first thing in the morning. Thanks for keeping it us in the loop. My biggest concern too is losing people due to the huge drop in rankings. It is discouraging.

The new way you're ranking users has some serious flaws--the biggest one being that new users rank above the veterans who helped build this site.

I myself dropped 500 points, and now new folks who haven't put much more than a username onto a page are ranked much higher than someone who's worked her way up the rankings. I love the new folks and offer all the help I can--and the fact that I've been here long enought to be ABLE to help should count for something more than simply signing up for the buzz.

I totally understand new material ranking above older material, but when someone's put very little material at all it's nuts for them to out-rank someone who's put MONTHS of work into this site.

My point is that overall ranking and community ranking should reflect ALL the work a user puts into cre8buzz. Work we've done from the beginning should perhaps be weighted less but it shouldn't be of so little credit to a user that it causes such enormous drop-downs or up-swings. cre8buzz was built by those of us who have been rating and posting for months, and suddenly it's worth so little that people who have posted little or nothing outrank us? That's just not right.

I think your new ranking algorhithm is seriously flawed when people who haven't had time to do anything outrank those who have months' worth of work in on helping build your site. It's just plain wrong and I beg you and your staff to reconsider how overall and community rankings are weighted.
